About Me

Profile photo of Lisa, creator of The Irish Baby FairyI’m Lisa – creator of the award winning Irish Baby Fairy blog; I’m a midwife and a mum. I decided to start this blog while on maternity leave with my first baby. I have worked as a midwife in maternity services in the UK and in Ireland, I feel we can do better for women. I have dealt with infertility personally and I’ve seen the sheer volume of women with pregnancies resulting from fertility treatment in my job. I am also a first time mother trying to make my way through the crazy newborn stage, with all the fun and sleep deprivation that brings.

This blog is to inform women so they can make their own decisions on their care and have a better maternity experience. It looks at pregnancy, birth and postnatal topics. It also has some information on infertility and living with a newborn based on my own experiences. Plus, of course, a few light-hearted posts to hopefully make you giggle.

If there are any topics you would like covered or you would like to ask me any questions please feel free to contact me using one of these options. The contact us form on this blog, my facebook page, through twitter, through snapchat or by email: theirishbabyfairy@gmail.com I make a huge effort to respond to everyone that contacts me.
