Toddlers – AKA little dictators, little criminals, little monkeys, little sh*ts. However, when the mood takes them, they have moments where they will have you rolling on the floor with laughter or your heart bursting with love as they struggle to pronounce a new word or copy something you do or say. They are bundles of energy keen to try anything and live dangerously. Christmas is a time of huge excitement for them – the lights, the music, the decorations, the presents – fun fun fun. But what to buy your little livewire that will get more mileage than the box it comes in?! Wonder no more, I’ve got the only list you need. I’ve checked in with some fabulous Irish small businesses to give you ideas covering all budgets for toddler gifts that are sure to be a hit with your little munchkin.
The Irish Companies
All the gifts covered in this post are sold by Irish companies, most of them set up by mums. So some items may be a little bit more expensive than your Smyth’s or your Argos but I guarantee the items will be of the highest quality and a little bit unique and special. I’ve included links in the descriptions but feel free to message me with any queries. I’ve started with the more expensive items and work my way down to the value ones that might make good stocking fillers. Don’t forget to check out my 101 stocking fillers for babies also if you have any smaller kids to buy for!
Splurge Toddler Gifts
What child doesn’t like playing in the kitchen? Usually under your feet when you are trying to get something done! This modern country kitchen is perfect for keeping them occupied. At €224.99 it certainly is a splurge but as you can see, the detail is fantastic and it’s made from wood as opposed to plastic. This comes from Lovely Wall Letters who have a wonderful collection of toys for your little ones including their fabulous dolls and many value options too.
This is a Wobbel Board and it sure is a splurge starting at €115.00 upwards (depending on finish and size) for what is essentially a curved piece of timber. This is what my own toddler will be getting under the Christmas tree and even though I have disturbing visions of it being placed (ie slammed) onto the glass coffee table, I think it will be great fun (under supervision)! The possibilities are endless from sitting on it, standing on it either way up, rocking, seesaw, using as a bridge for toys, etc. There is even Wobbel yoga! And it is strong enough for use by adults too. My justification is that he will get years out of it as will his baby brother. These are in high demand and difficult to get, I have linked to Babame in Northern Ireland but I believe Duffy’s Toy World in Louth also stock them. Just on another note – Duffy’s Toy World is a destination toy shop, it’s on my “places I must go” list along with Rome and Moscow! I’ve never been but I will get there.
Another brand that Duffy’s Toy World stock is Grimm’s. Above is the elusive wooden 12 piece rainbow which is nearly impossible to get your hands on as it is in such high demand! It costs around €70.00 which may seem pretty steep but it’s a toy for life with endless possibilities. You can stack them, build bridges, make seesaws for your teddys, build fences, etc – your imagination can run wild. I could easily write a whole blog post on this alone! There are also other more affordable toys from this brand but this is by far the most popular. It’s definitely worth phoning Duffy’s to see if they have any in stock if you are interested as they will post out.
Why have a rocking horse when you can have a rocking vespa??? Quite the splurge at €80.00 from Kid Store Dublin but how cool would this look in your todder’s room? Love it!
This one is just a small splurge compared to the others but along the same line as the kitchen. This is the Melissa & Doug cleaning set. For all their tantrums and meltdowns; toddlers do like to feel useful and are usually attracted to sweeping brushes (to clean or use as a weapon is the question!) so why not just get them their own set. This one is available from Toys and Games Ireland for €37.99.
How cute is this Raspberry Republic alpaca outfit from Mini Bella Boutique? It’s a splurge for sure at €42.50 for the sweatshirt and €25 for the leggings but it’s made from 100% organic cotton and the quality is second to none. Mini Bella Boutique have kindly given a 10% discount to my readers with the code MBB10.

This little Cribstar Christmas Jumper is very cute yet… very cool. Every toddler needs a christmas jumper; this one comes in at €20.00 and is 100% cotton. This is from Mini Bella Boutique and again, they are offering readers of my blog 10% off everything on their website with discount code MBB10.

Yellow Bird Gifts is well worth checking out for their beautiful range of wooden baby and children’s personalised gifts at a great price point. Yellow Bird Gifts have also kindly offered my readers a discount code of TYNC10 for 10% off!
How about this fab Reindeer Hoodie that is designed in Ireland and screen printed by hand here too. These are printed on the back with a pouch at the front. They are from The Stork Box and are priced at €25.00.
These Turtledove dungarees are super cute for your toddler; perfect for play. They cost €28.00 and are made from certified organic cotton. They have sizes up to 4 years. Check out younghearts.ie for them and many other fab brands.
I’m not sure whether these belong in splurge or sensible but this gift set of 100% leather rose gold moccasins with matching bow are to die for! These are for baby and toddler up to 2 years old. They come from Rain & Conker and are priced at €38.00, you can also buy the shoes alone for €32.00. You’ll find loads of other gorgeous moccasins and other fab bits and pieces on Rain & Conker too.
Everyone loves a snow globe at Christmas! And as the current unicorn craze continues, this little snow globe light is guaranteed to brighten up a little girl’s bedroom. This is limited edition and comes from Lovely Wall Letters costing €29.99.
Value Toddler Gifts
Another one from Lovely Wall Letters… how gorgeous are these Helen Dardik Design stacking blocks? Every toddler loves building towers and loves knocking them down even more. These blocks are just beautiful with their numbers and characters making them perfect as story blocks too when your toddler gets older. I’ll definitely be getting a set of these myself! An absolute steal at €16.99.
These beautiful flash cards by The Jam Tart are available for €13.00 a set from Milk & Pud. These bright and colourful cards are bound to be a hit with your toddler; as well as being educational, they also make lovely nursery decorations. There’s the alphabet set (in colour or monochrome), a numbers set and a colours set available.
This friendly looking mini star light is sure to brighten up your toddlers room and makes the perfect night light. It’s child safe and automatically turns off after 15 minutes. Fluffyfields sell this for €13.50 and also stock loads of fabulous baby accessories.
I love the Blade and Rose brand but my love went to a whole new level when I came across these Christmas Pudding leggings. Cuteness overload. These are available from Babychic and cost €12.95, there are also lots more designs that could be worn all year round and go up to age 4.
Most toddlers assume they are at the absolute centre of the universe and people around them are there to answer to their every whim; this gorgeous knitted crown is a good one for the photos! Also from Milk & Pud, it retails at €5.99 and is also available in grey or red.
This Pull Along Duck is so cute and it’s made of wood with child safe water based paint. Toddlers like to pull things around after them so this is the perfect pet and the head moves as you walk. This costs €12.99 and is available from Toys and Games Ireland.
This You’re Only Little Once t-shirt by The Stork Box is a nod to the trending slogan t-shirts but the cutest I’ve seen! At €15.00 it won’t break the bank and can be worn over a long sleeve vest in these colder months. It’s 100% cotton and designed and printed in Ireland.
This Christmas soother clip is an absolute must have if your toddler likes a soother or you can go for a teething clip if there are teeth on the way. Made by Sorcha, they are personalised with your child’s name and there are loads of colour and design options. They are priced between €10.00 and €12.00 including postage, check out Retro Soother Clips on instagram for lots of ideas.
I’ve mentioned Babyboo bandana bibs before on my blog, I swear by them myself especially for teething toddlers. No matter how wet they get on top, it never goes through to their clothes and they look really cute. There are Christmas bibs out at the moment like the one pictured here but be fast if you want one as they do sell out quick. The bibs are €5.00 each but if you buy 10 or more the price works out at €3.25 each. Great stocking fillers.
